Young People at Risk for Hand Cancer Holding Cell Phones All the Time

Health and Medical, Safety and Security, Stress Management Add comments

I suppose that’s a question as much as a statement, “Young People at Risk for Hand Cancer Holding Cell Phones All the Time?”

There are too many parties diluting and downplaying the real science and research on the safety of cell phones on our brains, bodies and now hands.

Remember how safe, good and smooth cigarettes once were advertised?  Hmmm. Time and a lot of leaning on the government and companies that make more money on them were finally brought to light (no pun intended.) People still smoke, but now they have a choice.

So, now cell phones and cancer – why not be safe now instead of sorry and blaming “them” later?

GIFTS FOR KIDS AND USE OF CELL PHONES

Help your kids stay healthy using technology they love. Pick up a hands-free headset for their cell phone. Get one for yourself too! You want a headset that keeps the direct “pinging” away from the body/head.

DO NOT SLEEP WITH YOUR CELL PHONE

Keep cell phones at least 8 feet away from your body when sleeping, whether charging, just ON, or using for an alarm clock.

STUDIES

In 2011 the World Health Organization (WHO) announced that radiation from cell phones may cause cancer.

WHO said radio frequency electromagnetic fields (when cell phones are in use) had the potential to cause cancer in humans. Several studies showed an increased risk for a type of brain tumor called a glioma. The news was based upon extensive reviews of numerous studies by 31 scientists from 14 countries.

In 2007, the Bioinitiative Working Group released a 650-page report citing more than 2,000 studies (many very recent) that detail the toxic effects of EMFs (electromagnetic fields) from all sources. Chronic exposure to even low-level radiation (like that from cell phones), can cause a variety of cancers, impair immunity, and contribute to Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, heart disease, and many other ailments.

CANCER IN HANDS

Children are most susceptible to cancers as their brain barriers and skulls are not fully developed. This is also true for their hands, plus, how much (24/7) they hold onto – and sleep with – their cell phones.

Help them learn prevention now.

P.S. And, like watching parents smoke, drink, etc., children learn by watching adults and television. What are you teaching them about safe cell phone use?

For the past six years I have been fighting a large cancerous brain tumor. I have seen a number of the best oncologists from the best hospitals from around the world. They have all come to the conclusion that my type of brain tumor is largely linked to cell phones. I have no family history of this cancer. Although in college I slept with my phone near my pillow so I wouldn’t miss the alarm to wake me. I also talked on it for hours, on the side of my head the tumor is on. It’s sad the cell phone companies are keeping this issue under wraps. Because of this, their will be a lot of loss and sadness in the near future!

    Dear Anya,

I am so sorry for your health situation. Thank you for sharing your story.

Yes, there are plenty of problems like this that will start showing up more and more in the future as young people live with technology as part of their lives, without asking the hard questions, believing the answers, or questioning anything about the safety of them. And no, we cannot depend on the government to tell us the truth and of course the companies won’t as it’s their profits at stake.

I pray that your health shifts for the better soon.

    Kim

Most of us accept the risks of motor cars for the benefits we gain. The same is true of mobile phones. The difference is that we can see cars are manifestly dangerous, we treat them with immense respect and spend a lot of time learning how to use them safely. And even so they have a toll. We need the same attitude to mobile phones or any new tecchnology, whether we can see the danger or not.

Unfortunately nobody seems to think about the fact that even if you keep your cell phone 8 feet from your bed every single night, your neighbour may not. Apartment block living could mean that someone else’s phone is only a foot away, through the wall. Even if I have never used a phone in my life at work, on the bus and, as I said, above, at home everyone else’s usage becomes my personal problem.

Nice post, I met many people complaining that their hearing ability is reduced due to excessive use of cell phones and some are facing the problem of sleeplessness. So it would be better to use your cell phone in a limit
